Hedonist Society is a private circle in Sofia, gathered around the belief that an evening, taken seriously, is one of life's quieter pleasures. We meet over exceptional food and thoughtful wine — at The Maison, in private homes, in rooms across the city — and keep the company small, on purpose.

We are not a restaurant, nor a catering company, nor a club with a velvet rope. We are a society — a small circle of people who gather around extraordinary food and wine, and treat the evening itself as the thing worth making well.

A circle, kept small.
Membership is by invitation, and the table is intentionally intimate. Long enough for conversation to find its rhythm, small enough that no one leaves a stranger.

Rooted in Sofia, open to the road.
Most evenings unfold at The Maison, our home in Sofia. Others happen in private apartments, gardens and rooms across the city — and, on occasion, wherever the table belongs.

Seven movements gathered on a slow drive through Sevilla and Jerez, brought back to a Sofia table. Manzanilla en rama, lamb over vine cuttings, a forgotten Pedro Ximénez from 1978.

Liya & Kaloian.
Partners in life, and in this.
We are Liya and Kaloian — partners in life and the two people behind Hedonist Society. We are not chefs or restaurateurs. We are hosts, based in Sofia. This began the way most of our favourite evenings do: a table set at home, a bottle worth talking about, friends staying later than planned.
Travel is where we collect ideas — a local ritual, a hidden wine bar down an alley, a family-run place that treats strangers like its own — and Sofia is where we bring them home. Liya brings the warmth and the aesthetics; the instinct for making a room, and the people in it, feel at ease. Kaloian brings the curiosity and the stories — the small details that make an evening worth retelling.
Hedonist Society wasn't invented as a concept. It grew out of the way we already live in Sofia, and it is our invitation to share that with people who appreciate the same things.
